Martina Schaefer is a small-scale veganic farmer in Ontario, Canada who has been farming commercially for 9 years without owning any land. She runs a CSA program through Spiral Farm with weekly veggie boxes for local customers and grows 40 types of vegetables. Martina’s background in social and environmental justice work, and her work with animals and years of vegan living, have informed her approach to farming, which she views as an effective form of tangible action to address issues such as climate change, water conservation, hunger, and more.
